Effective January 1, 1999, new area code 832 will overlay area codes
713 and 281 in Houston, TX.  No existing numbers will be changed.

ALL FORMER 713 EXCHANGE PREFIXES REMAIN IN THE 713 AREA CODE.
ALL FORMER 281 EXCHANGE PREFIXES REMAIN IN THE 281 AREA CODE.

There will be no permissive dialing period because no numbers are
being changed.  Local calls will have to be dialed 1+10 digits
after January 1, 1999.

Test number: (832) 936-1111 gives recording if successfully dialed.
